Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. When paraphrasing you demonstrate exactly how well you understand the point someone was trying to make. 4. There is no number 4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Alain_RAMEAU_at_03__paris__tep@internet.total.fr Date: Thu, 28 Mar 96 11:45:14 MET Subject: Sorcery Arts Looking at the new list of spells Sandy's system, I noted that a lot of reverse spells have been introduced, particularly in the enchantments. As improvement in spell is long for a sorcerer in order to become good, may be it is possible to create a new sorcery skill (or Art, depending of the system used) called "Reverse". By using this Art, a sorcerer can manipulate a spell to give it the reverse effect. For example, a Haste could become a Hinder. This can also works for Enchantment, as a Magic Point Matrix Enchanment can become a Sink Magic Point. However, the cost when using this Art is 1 additional MP per MP used in the manipulation. For example, a sorcerer having the spell of "Haste" wishes to cast Hinder 6 using his art of Reverse. This will cost him 12 MP. Due to this increase in cost of MP, it may still be useful for the sorcerer to learn both spells, as in this case he may use both with normal MP cost. However, for unfrequent use of some spells, it may be interesting for the sorcerer, in order to keep Free INT, to learn only one type of spell and use Reverse Art instead to cast the opposite one. For spells not having clear opposite, it is up to game master to allow reversability and to decide of the effect. What range of values should be used for SIZe, STRength, etc.?
